YOU ARE HERE: Young people > E2L – Entry to Learning
What is E2L?
E2L stands for Entry to Learning.
It’s a project that can help you to take part in a range of activities so you can successfully progress into further learning (this includes further education, training and jobs with training).
Who can do E2L?
Anyone who is aged 16 or 17 who lives in Birmingham and is registered as NEET with Connexions Birmingham i.e. you are not in education, employment or training.
What will I be doing on E2L?
E2L provides you with an opportunity to take part in a project offering you the following help so you can successfully progress into further learning.
- One to one support from your Personal Adviser (PA)
- Take part in activities such as first aid, work experience, driving theory and much much more
- Have the opportunities to gain qualifications.
How many hours a week would I take part in?
The hours will be arranged to meet your needs. Your Youth Service PA will help you decide.
Will I gain any formal qualifications or any accreditation as a result of participating in E2L?
Yes, you will be given the opportunity to gain formal qualifications and accreditation linked to the activities that you have participated in.
How long does E2L last?
This can vary — in most cases it would be up to 13 weeks.
Where would I do E2L?
There are a variety of places where you can take part in the E2L activities, including your local Connexions centre, local youth centre, and you may also spend some time with a learning provider. Your allocated PA will be able to advise you about this.
Will I get paid?
You may be able to receive a weekly bonus of £30 in return for your proven engagement in the weekly steps and activities agreed between you and your PA in your Action Plan.
In some circumstances you may also receive additional support for things such as travel, interview clothes etc.
Great, I want to start — where can I find out more?
Contact your local Connexions Centre and/or Youth Centre and ask a PA about E2L.
